his survey was entitled Glamourphonic electronic disco, baby, a fragment of lyrics from a Lady Gaga tune, for she was suddenly all over the planet that year. No disco sticks here, but the cover images were taken by us during a trip to the Berkshires (more specifically at the Clark Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts; building designed by Ando Tadao), a few weeks before assembling this compilation.

This year also marked the introduction of bonus tracks, which were digital mp3 tracks downloadable from my website.

Chae Yeon's selection on this CD marks the first appearance of K-Pop in the history of the survey. Incidentally, this year's compilation features songs sung in English, Korean, French, Spanish, and Hebrew. We appreciate diversity in music.
