2012 California Water Law Symposium: Water and Growth:
January 21, 2012 (8 AM - 5 PM) @ Boalt Hall

Berkeley Law will host the 8th Annual, student-run California Water Law Symposium. It brings together the leading minds in water law to educate students, practitioners, and one another through a series of panel discussions that address contemporary challenges and controversies in California water law.

General admission is $40, and 6.5 hours of MCLE credit is $100. Registration is free for students with valid school ID.

Artificial Photosynthesis: A Photovoltaic Perspective
February 3, 2012 (1 - 2 PM) @ 521 Cory

Dr. Joel W. Ager (Joint Center for Artificial Photosynthesis and Materials Sciences Division at LBNL) will lecture on his research on using sunlight to generate liquid transportation fuels, the "artificial photosynthesis" scheme will be discussed, and
the scientific barriers which have prevented development of a feasible system to date.

Focus the Nation, Clean Energy Forum at UCB February 7, 2012 (6 - 9 PM) @ Eshleman Library

Sponsored by the ASUC Sustainability Team and Focus the Nation, will focus on the question: "Is 100% clean energy possible for the UC Berkeley campus?" Join us for multi-disciplinary discussions to identify roadblocks and solutions on the road toward a fossil-fuel-free campus. Free and open to all.

The United States Farm Bill: A Panel Discussion
April 5, 2012 (6:30 PM) @ Wheeler Auditorium

Michael Pollan, food writer and professor of journalism, and Dan Glickman, former secretary of agriculture and currently a senior fellow at the Bipartison Center, will participate in a panel discussion on the U.S. Farm Bill, which is up for renewal this year.
