The Joint Major program requires 2 upper division Materials science electives, one from each group:
Students petition the joint major after they attain sophomore standing. Those who are accepted into the program are enrolled in both the College of Engineering and College of Chemistry, with their home college being the College of Chemistry.
Unfortunately, because the number of joint Chemical Engineering/Materials Science Joint Majors is relatively small, there is no data on the trajectory of joint majors. Those who are interested in the major are encouraged to look at the 2018 Career survey for Chemical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering, individually.
