I've been working part-time and in the summers since I graduated from college. Here are some of the places I have worked for and what I did:

Public Utilities Commission

Title: File Clerk
Dates: June 1996 - August 1996
Pay: $8.50/hr
My responsiblities: Pulling and returning files from file room C and half of file room B. Dedicated file clerk to three processors.
What I really did: Pulled files. Returned files. Got into trouble for helping my friend do her work.
Also: Met a lot of cool people that I wish I still kept in contact with.

Title:CS 61B Lab Assistant
Dates: August 1998 - May 1999
Pay: For school credit
My responsiblities: Assisting students in the understanding of Object oriented Programming. Answered students questions about Java.
What I really did: Talked to students. Help grade student's lab assignments. Learned more Java.
Also: Teaching a subject really does help you learn better.

Title: Web Master
Dates: July 1999 - August 2000
Pay: $18.00/hr
My responsiblities: Creating and maintaining company website (not online anymore).
What I really did: Designed and created the whole website from scratch. Used Photoshop, HTML, and Javascript to make pages. Followed "guidelines" set by boss. Was also in charge of other websites owned by boss. Also worked on publication projects with Editor.
Also: Met a lot of cool people. (Very high turnover rate!) Micro-managers are bad bosses.

Title: Summer Intern
Pay: $15.00/hr
My responsiblities: Develop software in Visual Basic for a microarrayer
What I really did: Wrote code in VB to interface with motors on a microarrayer. Designed and enhanced User interfaces. Fixed bugs in software.
Also: Where I learned that I wanted to be an Mechanical Engineer. Building a machine and watching it work is a very gratifying experience.

Title: Mechandising/Marketing Intern
Pay: $14.00/hr
My responsiblities: Intern stuff for Video games and DVD rentals.
What I really did: Used online research to write and produce video game buying guides. Was in charge of all supplier marketing in the 4th quarter. Built pages and brand shops by working with big name video game companies like Sony and Microsoft using propriatery software. Assisted in cutting PO's and new release purchasing using contacts in big name studios like MGM and Warner Bros. Gathered and analyzed data to help decide replenishment qualities and clean up misqueues.
Also: Learned some MAD Excel skillz! Got to meet some cool people. Walmart rules! (Which is why I like to link to Wal-Mart!)
