EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Hi everyone! I’m Madison, and I’m a fourth-year double majoring in Political Science and French with a minor in Human Rights. I’m interested in European politics, sustainable development, and rising far-right nationalism around the world. In my free time, I love to read and explore! I just returned from a 7-month program in France and am excited to be back in Berkeley. DPhiE has given me an amazing community and a way to develop my interests, and I am thrilled to lead the organization this semester.

Hey there! My name is Alvin Shuh, and I am thrilled to serve DPhiE as Internal Vice President for the fall semester. As a senior in the Global Studies department, I focus on peace and conflict, with a regional emphasis on East and Southeast Asian nations. Having just returned from a semester at the National University of Singapore, I’ve deepened my fascination with Southeast Asian political structures and nation-building in the region. This past summer, I interned with the District Office of Congresswoman Norma Torres (CA-35), gaining tremendous insight into American bureaucratic structures. Outside of international relations, I enjoy traveling, playing GeoGuessr, and attending Cal football games. Looking forward to this semester with you all!

Hi all, I’m Shunyata Lysenko, but you can call me Shuni (he/him), and I’m the social chair for this semester, so I look forward to some of the parties and events I and my co-chair have planned! I’m a third-year at Berkeley majoring in political science with the intention of minoring in public policy. Although, fun fact: I’m taking a little time off this election season to help elect Vice President Harris and assist other Democratic campaigns. I was born in Nelson, Canada, but grew up all over the place, from Berkeley and Oakland to Prague in Czechia, and have now returned to California to study. I love hiking and camping, watching movies, thrifting, cooking, baking for friends and family, fencing, traveling to new places, and visiting friends abroad. Delta Phi Epsilon is a wonderful group and fraternity of like-minded individuals, all seeking to make a difference in the world, and my favorite memory from my time with them so far has to be when we all went to a Giants game together in San Francisco. I love baseball, and enjoying it with others, heading into the city, and partying afterward was terrific.
