Purpose

CHSN Tech promotes technology as a tool for experimentation and learning at Clarkstown High School North, with a particular emphasis on:

FLOSS

Software developers give access to the software source code that determines how a program functions and release the software under liberal licenses which permit these uses. FLOSS has no licensing costs.

Free Culture

Free cultural works are text, images, music, video, or other media that can be freely studied, applied, copied, and modified. Free cultural works have no licensing costs.

Free Formats

Free formats are file formats that can be freely used by any person, organization, or computer program. HTML and PDF are examples of free formats.

GNU/Linux

GNU/Linux is the most popular FLOSS computer operating system.

Club Documents

CHSN Tech maintains documentation, including the Club Bylaws, the Club Summary, and the Club Code of Conduct.

Meetings

Visit the Meetings page for past and future meetings and events. Meetings are held on a weekly basis.

Membership

Membership is open to any student at Clarkstown High School North who agrees to abide by the Code of Conduct and supports the Club’s Purpose. If you wish to become a member, please contact the Club President. For more information on membership, see Article II of the Bylaws.

Review Project

CHSN Tech hosts the Review Project, which promotes the development and propagation of study material in the form of high-quality review reports and other documents. Documents written by the Review Project are considered free cultural works.
