Mark's proposal to Shanté was based on the board game Hanabi. In the game, you and a partner work together to put on a firework display. There are five stacks of colors to assemble. Mark created the game Heart-nabi, a playable version of Hanabi but with pictures of the two of them on the cards instead of the regular images. The proposal ran from November 2016 to January 2017, when Shanté and Mark traveled to Boston (visiting friends), New York (Thanksgiving), and Seattle (Christmas) within a short time span. In each city and at home, Shante had to solve puzzles and do activities to `earn' the cards to build the ring (replacing the firework display of the original game).
Shanté's proposal to Mark was in April 2017. While Mark was away visiting home, she make a top hat and veil for their two stuffed giraffes!
