I am an Associate Professor of Economics at Universidad del Pacifico. I am an applied economist trained at
PUCP (BA),
Oxford University (MSc) and UC Berkeley (PhD).
Prior to my PhD I worked at
GRADE (Peru),
CISEPA (Peru),
CRISE (UK),
EDI (Tanzania), and
IFPRI (USA).
My research is centered around poverty reduction, with some emphasis on the role of behavioral economics – in particular issues that are exacerbated by the weaker institutions of developing countries. I have worked with governments, international organizations and private institutions on implementing and evaluating poverty reduction strategies in Latin America and Africa.
