Oliver P. John is the Director of the Berkeley Personality Lab. His research focuses on how person factors (personality) interact with situational and environmental factors to shape people's lives and important social outcomes.
Yi-Ke is a 1st year Ph.D. student studying personality, emotion, and the basis of compatibility. Before returning to school, she honed her data chops in Silicon Valley, working in psychometrics, machine learning, and software engineering. Outside the lab, she likes exploring hiking trails in the Bay Area, discovering obscure films, and befriending neighborhood cats.
Deb is a 2nd year Ph.D. student in the Social-Personality area, working with Dr. Oliver P. John of the EER Lab and Dr. Oz Ayduk of RASCL. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Her research primarily focuses on automating cognitive change strategies and exploring how agreeableness and other personality factors may influence emotional responses.
Conrad is a 3rd year Ph.D. student interested in emotion and emotion regulation. Currently, he is exploring how different people select emotional situations and how changing selection patterns may improve well-being.
Rosalinda Rosalinda is a 6th year PhD student. She primarily studies university culture and parental support for college students, first-generation college students in particular.
