UC Berkeley Mathematical Contest in Modeling |
Useful Links MCM main page: http://www.comap.com/undergraduate/contests/ Provides details and regulations for the contest, as well as previous problems and judges commentary. The site is rather dull, but important to review in order to familiarize yourself with the competition, its rules and important dates.
Kelly's Guide to the MCM: http://ucsub.colorado.edu/~clineks/mcm.html An awesome, detailed account of what it is like to train for and compete in the MCM. The author of the guide participated for three years (until he finally won), and provides excellent insight to methods of effective training, teamwork, model-building and paper-writing. Read this - know it inside and out!! MathModels.org: http://www.mathmodels.org/ This website lists some cool modeling problems that you might want to look at, based on difficulty. Some of them are previous MCM problems, but if you are looking for other problems to work with, this is a good place to start. |
