Boats in Aberdeen Harbour

Toshi, Julia, Maggie and I took a boat on Lamma Island and went to Aberdeen. Unfortunately Julia was busy so she had to leave us. The rest of us looked around Aberdeen. According to the guidebook, Aberdeen Harbour is home to hundreds of people living on fishing junks, juxtaposed against a modern high-rise community. However, that I did not see. We wanted to look at the floating restaurants, but they would only look good at night so we explored the area first. Also, Maggie's mom works in a restaurant around here and she treated the three of us to a wonderful dinner!

We walked for an enormous amount of time, trying to find the pier which would provide a beautiful view of the famous floating restaurants. In fact, this includes the world's largest floating restaurant! It was quite difficult to find pier, as most people would take the bus, rather than to walk there. We made many mistakes, including crossing the wrong bridges. The area surrounding the pier was mostly industrial, and it took at least an hour to get to the pier. There were 3 piers, one for each of the restaurant. Not to mention, there were plenty of fancy cars parked. People would come to the piers and then wait for a ship to come take them to the restaurants. The restaurant must be frightenly expensive, and we had no plans to eat there. We just wanted to view this magnificent sight! By the way, Toshi's camera ran out of batteries so he had to pay 70HKD for a single battery at a nearby souvenier booth!
