arukitsukareta goro ni   guuzen ni deatta ne
kotoba ga sukunakutemo   onaji me wo shiteru kimi
We were exhausted from walking
When we met each other by chance,
Though your words were few,
Your eyes had the same look as mine.

otagai kako no yume wo sutekirezu tachidomari [1]
chigireta kamihikouki   tameiki de tobashiteta
Unable to throw away our dreams from the past
We stood halted
We were holding a tattered paper airplane up in the air
With just the breath from our sighs.

dokomademo tsudzuku hiroi jukai no naka   tozasu kokoro suteyou to
futari wa chikatta
Within a vast sea of trees, spreading out everywhere,
We made a promise to one another
To throw away our hardened hearts.

ashita yuku basho   donna keshiki darou
onaji taiyou ga   ima mo michibiiteru
What sights, I wonder, will you arrive at tomorrow?
Even now, the same sun is leading us forward.

ano toki   kaze ga itta HITOKOTO no sono akashi
mienai CHANSU datte   onaji dake todoku n'da
The wind whispered a word as witness
Though the chances are unknown, it will still reach you.

dokomademo tsudzuku tooi daichi no ue   sorezore no ashiato ga
michi ni natte iru
Upon this vast stretch of earth, spreading out everywhere,
The footsteps made by each and every person
Are forming into a smooth path.

KIMI NO UTAGOE   IMA MO KIKOERU
The sound of your singing,
Even now, I can hear it.

ashita yuku basho   donna keshiki darou
onaji taiyou ga   futari terashite iru
kitto daremo ga tatta hitorikiri de
michi naki michi wo   utaitabi shite iru
What sights, I wonder, will you arrive at tomorrow?
The same sun is shining down on the two of us,
Surely everyone is, on their own,
Traveling where there once was no path, singing as they go.
