All through the city, there's a commotion
Adding more and more to the rising heat

saki isogu kimi no senaka   boyakete kiesou ni naru
As you hurry forward,
Your figure grows hazy and almost disappears

mada aoku shizunda sora
sukitooru shiroi tsuki   'daijoubu' to tsutaeru
taiyou ga tooku kara niramitsukete itemo
kono koe wo shinjitai
In the pale blue dusk sky
The clear white moon tells me, 'It's alright,'
Though the sun glares steadily from afar
I want to believe in this voice

me ni mienai MONO wa   yaku ni tatanai   dareka itteta kedo
kokoro ni ukabiyuku   fuan ni genjitsu ni kengen sarete shimau
There's no use in things that can't be seen
Someone once said that, but
This unease rising up in my heart
Is manifesting itself in reality

shiawase wo nozomu negai   sore yori mo chikaradzuyoku
Stronger even than
This desire which longs for happiness

kyou to iu kono toki ga
egaite shimatteru hakanai shiawase nara
mou sukoshi te wo kuwae futari onaji mirai
aruku e ni shiageyou
If what this point in time called 'today' can etch out [1]
Is only a fleeting happiness
Let's bring our hands closer together to complete the portrait
As the two of us walking towards the same future

nee ma ni au no kana...
ichido egaita RASUTO SHIINU   kanashii SHINARIO
yaburisuteru koto mo dekinai to shita nara?
Hey, will we make it in time?
The last scene that we once drew, a sad scenario
What if we aren't able to tear it up and throw it away?

akane-iro   somaru sora
katamuku tsuki ga ima 'daijoubu' to tsutaeru
taiyou to koi wo shita megami ni tsutsumareta
kono koe wo shinjitai
In the crimson sky [2]
The rising moon now tells me, 'It's alright,'
Embraced by a goddess who fell in love with the sun
I want to believe in this voice

kono sugao, kono namida, watashi no subete ima
ryoute wo hirogenagara
uketomete dakishimeru KIMI no rinkaku dake
enogu ga nijinde yuku
This unadorned face, these tears, all of me now
You open your arms to
As you catch me in your embrace, with just your outline [3]

[1] The reading 'toki' (time) is given the kanji 'jikan' (time).
[2] 'Akane-iro' is actually the color of the akane (madder) flower, which is often used in Japanese to describe the vivid-red color of the sky during sunset; the English equivalent is probably 'crimson'.
[3] The 'kimi' (you) here is written in katakana, as if the writer is referring to a special/non-human 'you' -- presumably, a constellation of stars (that makes an outline of a picture) in the sky.
