About
Stem cell research at UC Berkeley is organized and coordinated by the Berkeley Stem Cell Center, a cornerstone of the University’s Health Sciences Initiative. The Stem Cell Center brings together more than 40 Principal Investigators from UC Berkeley, the Innovative Genomics Institute, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland into a creative and collaborative multidisciplinary research environment.
The mission of our center is to carry out the highest quality basic and translational research essential for the development of stem cell-based therapies.
