Sigma Iota Rho is a fantastic organization. It helped build strong relationships with faculty, forge friendships with fellow students and equip me with skills, advice and optimism for the future. The Faculty Mentorship Program provides a great opportunity for students to get to know faculty members better and learn from the most inspiring professors. Thanks SIR and I wish you all the best!

Being a member of SIR at Berkeley has been an enriching and rewarding experience. The club is comprised of students with a diversity of academic and career interests, but all who are passionate about international relations, development, and global studies. As a community that is dedicated to furthering students’ resources, connections, and abilities to engage with new ways of thinking about some of the world’s most pressing issues, I have greatly benefited from our chapter’s alumni networking events, advice from senior students on graduate school and important classes, as well as opportunities to connect with faculty. Last year one of my research projects was published in SIR’s annual journal for undergraduate work. It was exciting to interact with the society on a national level, and also to consider how we, as undergraduates, have unique opportunities to learn about and to influence the ways in which social impact on a global scale is shaped and conceptualized.
