ChemUNITY

ChemUNITY stands for Underrepresented Non-Traditional Inclusivity in the College of Chemistry. We aim to FOSTER a pipeline to graduate school, BUILD community, HOST supportive study spaces, and DEVELOP & DISSEMINATE resources that advance the scholarship for underrepresented and nontraditional scholars in the College of Chemistry. We define "underrepresented scholars" as students of color and first-generation college students. We define "nontraditional scholars" as transfer students, re-entry students, and student-parents. Along with study sessions, we host field trips and informational events about biotech industries in the bay, such as Genentech. In the future, we plan to have weekly meetings with members and create a mentoring community with the lower and upper classmen.
