BIOGRAPHY
I am a fifth year Chemistry Ph.D. student in the Saykally Group at Berkeley. I received my S.B. degree in Chemistry from MIT in 2003, and attended University High School in Normal, IL.

RESEARCH
Femtosecond laser spectroscopy: (1) carrier dynamics of nanostructures and (2) nonthermal melting dynamics of carbon

P. Peng, D. J. Milliron, S. M. Hughes, Justin C. Johnson, A. Paul Alivisatos, and Richard J. Saykally; "Femtosecond Spectroscopy of Carrier Relaxation Dynamics in Type II CdSe/CdTe Tetrapod Heteronanostructures," Nano Lett. 5 (9) 1809-1813

TEACHING
I was a Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) for the following classes at Berkeley:

Chem 1A: General Chemistry
Chem 3B: Organic Chemistry II
Chem 4A: General Chemistry (for Chem Majors)
Chem 125: Physical Chemistry Laboratory
