Who I am?

Hi, my name is Pranjal Dwivedi, and I got my PhD in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, advised by Prof. Celine Pallud. My dissertation focuses on studying carbon and GHG fluxes from wetlands across different geographies to natural and anthropogenically-induced changes in temperature and water chemistry. Broadly, my work seems to inform the measurement, allocation, and discussion of policy implications around ecosystem carbon as a part of ‘natural climate solutions’.

Before Berkeley, I obtained a Master’s degree at the School of Environmental and Forest Science, working in Rob Harrison’s Forest Soils group. My thesis focused on linking soil chemistry to forest health in Douglas-fir plantations in western Washington. My undergraduate degree is in Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, where I designed an electrocoagulation reactor to separate metals from mine water for my capstone.

Outside of work, I’m a passionate soccer player and watcher (Liverpool fan for life YNWA), trivia nerd, and I care deeply about labor organizing and environmental activism.
