Installing Bull Nose Brick Caps
1. Before you install the brick caps, you should some Weld Crete to the top surface of the backer board. This will allow the mortar to stick well to the surface. (Let the Weld Crete set up for 24 hours)
2.Apply two beads of mortar to the top of the wall
Set the blocks in and level them in all directions. It's best to run a string down the length of the wall just in front of the Bull Nose portion of the brick, then butt the bricks up to the string.
This is the fastest way to insure the bricks will be lined up and strait as they go down the length of the wall.
When I needed to cut some of the bricks down, I used a masonry blade and a table saw. Hook up a shop vac and rig it so it vacuums up as you cut,
otherwise you'll create a whole lot of brick dust.
