Hardy Backer Board

Install hardy backer board on top of the wall after you install the paper and chicken wire. Measure the outside width of the wall and ad 1 1/2 inches to the overall dimension, this will give you 3/4" of overhang on each side of the wall. At some point you will have to seal the top surface of the hardy backer board, before you apply Weld Crete to you top of the backer board, you should tape the joints of the hardy backer board with a fiberglass mesh tape and then apply versabond thin set to join all the joints. I used a 4" Makita grinding tool with a diamond blade to cut the hardy backer board.
