Policies & Expectations
The purpose of the discussion section is to review concepts and clarify them by working additional problems in detail. Therefore, to make best use of the time, please come prepared having done the reading for the week and/or gone to lecture. Then, bring any questions you have to discussion and ask them!
Likewise, the purpose of office hours is to fill in gaps as you try to work through exercises, especially homework problems. Therefore, please come prepared having worked every problem as far as you can so that you can pinpoint where you are stuck. I am more than happy to help.
Below, I will post additional notes and problems for the discussions. They are not meant to be a substitute for coming to discussion and participating. They are meant to fill in the gaps in derivations and go in depth. They are also meant to serve as a backup resource, so that if you want to check something in your own notes, you may find it in this uploaded set. Problems that are uploaded here will not be graded but are meant to supplement MasteringPhysics, give you a better understanding of the concepts, and challenge you at a level more comparable to exam material.
