it's $7.50 entrance fee to do the highway drive, but it seems like it'd
be a really ideal trip for those of you with a gf. at the end of the loop,
south a bit, caramel beach is right there. plus, caramel has a zillion
little shops along many streets in town, inveritably a girl's shopping
paradise. and for the guys, you aren't totally left out. i mean, there's
the beach. so romantic on a cloudy windy day ;)
that's my travel log. one more thing: from fremont it's a 2.5 hour
drive down 880/1 (through flat valley) or 880/101 (over SC mountains) and
either way, you want to leave for monterey by 7 or 8am on a weekend day,
and also that lets you return earlier, avoiding worse traffic.
