In case I didn't tell you: the trip is CANCELLED.
Ask me questions, but basically everyone is too busy.

Dates: please tell one of the camping leaders your preference: August 11-13 or August 18-20. Both are Friday through Sunday. Also, this trip really will become a CSUA-OCF staff+ trip soon. --ken

Jason C will be at lake tahoe in august, so he will try to meet us before or after our trip. -ken

The best date for this trip is after Session D but before welcome week -- Friday August 18th through Sunday August 20th. We'll meet together at least twice before then, during July, when people aren't at Defcon8. Bonus: I just found PG&E's page detailing their lake camping properties. Long Lake isn't listed, but Kidd Lake is close by, and is. (see links page) -ken

As of today, the trip team seems to include Ken, Paulo, Devin, Elaine, their dates, and others who need to check details and schedules. For all intents, this is a CSUA-OCF outing.

We don't need a map since I'll know the area after we arrive there. If Bem goes, he knows the place too. Second, plans always change, but Devin's good idea is for us to have some pre-trip get-togethers at a pizza place. A pre-trip hike in the Berkeley hills during mid to late July wouldn't be bad either. I'll be updating info for the trip at this website so make sure bookmark it and come back whenever you want to know something...

It's kinda good that Callahan can't go because I don't know if he could handle it. This trip is hardcore. There are absolutely no electricity outlets, toilets, roads, showers. Nothing. It won't be like Disneyworld. It won't even be like a dorm. If you can't stand not showering for more than two days then this isn't for you. (I'm not saying I like skipping showers, ahem). I must say however, long lake is very clean -- I've drunk out of it plenty before. You'll want to bring swimming gear. This will get covered in the info section sooner or later. About how many days we are staying -- this will be decided by the people who are going, not me.

More details will be posted soon. In the meantime, here is the original picture of the above left: click. Getting to the top of Devil's Peak is an all-day afair.
