General & Supplementary Conditions
Conditions are the guideline to the administration of the contract.
General conditions refer to boilerplate guidelines on the administration of the contract that exist in standard forms created by various professional organizations such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Association General Contractors (AGC), and the Engineers’ Joint Contract Document Committee (EJCDC). The AIA’s Form A-201 and EJCDC’s form 1910-8 are popular, “tried and true” general conditions; that is they have stood the test of the courts and time.
