NERV is the UN-funded organization in charge of the Evangelion project. Perpetually under-funded and over-worked, the purpose of NERV is to eliminate the Angels. This means calling upon the services of the EVA squad. NERV also pursues a secondary project, the existence of which only a few privileged members are aware of.
