Educational Television event series website and poster design
2024-11-16
Figma
Website and poster design for event series hosted by the San Francisco arts organization Problem Library.
Design brief excerpt:
Educational Television is a project we started in 2022 to curate videos we find valuable and share them in a way that invites “slow” viewing. Inspired by the spirit of publicly accessible educational programming from the 80s and 90s, it currently exists as a website streaming two channels 24/7, with content synced for all viewers and no ability to skip or pause.
Next year Problem Library will begin hosting a series of events where we watch and discuss these videos in person. Our need is a new website for these events with a visual identity that expands on our currently minimal branding, as well as marketing materials that can be used to promote the viewings. These materials will also be used for independently organized satellite events hosted by members of our community outside of San Francisco.
Our hope is to reanimate television as a medium to educate, provoke, and inspire: to celebrate curiosity in the mechanisms, mystery, and magic of the world; to delight in the artifacts left by the generous thinkers and makers that came before us; and to tend to the ecosystem of ideas that better our lives and the lives of those around us.
