Mina Adabag is a sophomore from Minnesota studying Molecular Environmental Biology and a current CPISC Island Justice Fellow. With a background in ocean-justice advocacy and ecological research, she is passionate about expanding the Westernized understanding of science. Aspiring to have her own lab, Mina is pursuing coastal ecological research focused on partnerships with Indigenous communities and stakeholders. Through a variety of global environmental organizations, Mina has experience lobbying climate legislation in DC, presented at the UN Conference on Biological Diversity, teaching environmental justice curricula to schools, and organizing global climate summits. Living in the land of lakes and along the Mississippi River, she is motivated to help bridge the gap between coastal and inland communities and continue evolving fields of scientific research to collaborate with community justice and traditional practices.
