Horn of Spirits.
The horn was stored in the Darokin safety deposit box, as are the books
on deities. Tess' soul was in the horn, as were those of the spirits with
names written on the horn, until Tess was released by the Lady of the Noose
guy who dealt with the horn to atone for attacking women.
-
a magical horn with silver patterns and inlaid names: those who had previously
blown the horn
-
the horn traps the spirits of those who blow the horn. Some priests of
deities of the dead can use the horn without this side effect.
-
if the person has died their spirit will fight for the person who blows
the horn. If the spirit dies in battle then it is destroyed irrevocably.
-
Break horn and you will die (if your name is on it...)
-
It already has Tess' soul in it
-
Will not die if someone else blows it
-
People summoned have same abilities as they did in life
-
Have to die before one can be summoned by the horn
-
Certain priests can use the horn safely (cannot determine who)
-
Spirits that are killed are destroyed
Breaking the horn will return a spirit back to a normal state,
but will kill a living person who's spirit is in the horn.
Note, shadow elves can be resurrected without going on a quest, but they
have to be deemed worthy of being a Shadow Elf.
