The High Price of Feeling Good

Minimum wage laws are an example of a politically advantageous feel-good law with very real bad consequences. While being sold as a method to ensure all workers are paid enough to live on, minimum wage laws hurt most the very people they are intended to help, increasing unemployment among the most unskilled workers by preventing them from choosing to work at a lower wage when they need to.
