• Irvine City Hall
  
  I think Irvine's city hall is a rather interesting looking building. Doesn't look much like traditional city halls. I took this picture one morning while walking to work.
  
  

  The big glass wall actually looks pretty nice. It doesn't look particularly fantastic in this morning picture, but some time I'll try to take a picture of how it looks at night when it's lit from the inside.

  
  
  
• Irvine, California
  
  The fact that Irvine is a planned city bothers me at times. It's not a bad thing having normal surface roads that are wide and well organized so that they have 50 mile per hour speed limits on them. It's not a bad thing that the place is clean. It's just that the place feels like it has no character. Than again, I guess you could say that this artificiality is the character of Irvine.
  
  While I was rollerblading home from work today, I stopped to take a few pictures that sort of show what I mean. There's this bridge over a storm drain type channel (that is there to prevent flooding) that runs between some houses and some commercial buildings. I figure those of you out there who have never been to Irvine can't understand what I mean about artificiality without some illustrations. =)
  
  

  Here we have a picture from the commercial side of the waterway. A typical Irvine row of identical looking tract apartments/condominiums. I actually live in one of the apartment complexes right by these.	This is a shot from the bridge itself. I find it kinda funny how we can see a residential area, a commercial area, and a natural looking area all at once.
  If you can't see the surrounding area, the waterway is actually rather nice looking. One might even find it believable that the bird in the picture lives in the waterway.	This is the view of the more commercial side taken from that bike trail that runs along the waterway. You can see the trail in the other pictures.
