Thanks to everyone who attended Berkeley Poetry Review’s pre-holiday reading at University Press Books on December 4th–and a big thanks to our magnanimous and spectacular readers. Poet and UC Berkeley professor Geoffrey G. O’Brien read from his forthcoming collection, People on Sundays (Wave, 2013), and Matthew Zapruder from a forthcoming manuscript titled Sun Bear (whose titular poem the audience had the privilege of enjoying). The reading turned out to be somewhat interdisciplinary: an ekphrastic poem, as well as one written after the late Vic Chesnutt, was read.
Several student poets also read: Alex Taitague and Kayla Krut, who were included in our 42nd issue, as well as Bryce Thornburg.
