È¿äÀÏ ¾Æħ: ¿À´Ã ¾Æħ ÀÏ ÇÏ·¯ °¥¶§ ÀÚÀü°Å¸¦ ÅÀ¾î¿ä. oneul achim il haruh galddae jajuhnguhreul tassuhyo. this morn, i rode my bike to werk. how r u? plz lemme know. i do have that gbook. plz fill it out. well, we're well into 11¿ù nov. can u believe that? halloween came n' went. then, elektion day came n' went. pretty soon, t.giving's gonna come n' go. the beautiful kaela hwang n' i r almost done w/ our 40 days'f vegetarianism n' no "sweets." almost... however, we hope to keep up some'f this: we'll continue to eat less land animals n' continue to avoid "sugar." i used to eat like this neway. it's only when i moved down to san jo that i started to get a li'l more "liberal" in my diet, u know? ya nah whada mean? (yadadamean? yadadashayin'?) by "liberal," i mean that i started to allow more things into my diet. while livin' in berkeley, 'specially when i was single, i didn't eat that much meat. when i ate meat, i almost always opted 4 chicken or seafud. i avoided red meat. i also avoided dessert fuds n' cookie type stuff. 4 most'f my freshman yr, i avoided soda, even in the dc (dining commons), where soda (soda pop or sody pop) abundantly flowed. neway, yah... pretty soon, t.giving'll come n' go. then, there'll be no mistaking that it's definitely christmas season. on the nbc today show, this morn, i heard that major dept stores r gonna have a bit'f a pri¢e war this christmas $hopping season. yah, i hope so! i'd love to $pend less n' $ave some $$$. also, yesterday, on the today show, i heard them saying that major retailers r bringing back the term "christmas." u c, last yr, many major retailers, out'f so.called "politikal correktness," eliminated the term christmas from their vocabulary. they didn't have "christmas $ales," but had "holiday $ales." yah, many christians (protestants n' catholics) took major offense. s'pposedly catholics did a good job in organising boycotts'f retailers who refused to use the wurd "christmas." s'pposedly those boycotts were effektive 'nuff to persuade retailers to bring back the wurd "christmas." not bad. like... *shrug* i dunno... i don't mean to be mean.spirited 2wards ppl who believe in ne'f the world's religions... after all, i was glad to hear on air1, toby mac's publik service 'nnouncement re: religious freedom. it's good. as i was sayin', i was gettin' sick'f having to hear on air1 publik service 'nnouncements that had 2 much'f a politikally conservative tinge. i found those 'nnouncments extremely inappropriate. however, i was glad to hear tobymac's 'nnouncment.
[later] is my life interesting or boring? which 1? do i have readers who read my journal n' think my life's boring? i wish i could post more pix on my journal; but i simply don't have time to crop, shrink, n' upload pix. sure, @ times, i wish i could be a full.time writer... i think. however, who'd wanna read the garbage i write? :-? i have 'lot'f books to read. hrm, i can't even find all the books i've gotten lately. i should read more; but, honestly, when i try to read, 2 often i end up falling asleep. i wish i could have a relaxing day to sit out in the shade, somewhere nice - like in berkeley, out on the patio'f a café - n' read books. i dunno... if i really did have that kind'f free time, i'd prob'ly end up @ the sunnyvale skate park or on the tahoe slopes. that's just me, eh? i haven't gotten to watch a movie in ages. i wanted to watch jet li's fearless in the theatre, but it came n' went. now? the big movie's borat. other movies that r playin' include: a good year, man of the year, marie antoinette, babel, the queen, flags of our fathers, stranger than fiction, the prestige... 'mongst those, there r maybe a few i wouldn't mind watchin'. believe it or not; i think the 1 i most wanna c - just cos'f the clever marketing - is marie antoinette. they used the cure's "plainsong" in the tv ad n' have that hip n' trendy, retro 1980s punk font on the movie posters. those 2 things 'lone attrakt me. that retro 1980s punk font - u c it in the logo 4 baker skateboards n' 4 zero skateboards. we also used it in the recent past 4 grx's "volunteer revolution" series. it's good stuff. @ the snow show, kaela bought a couple'f things from the snowbunny booth. this pur¢a$e consisted'f a brown snowbunny hoodie w/ a pink snowbunny logo n' a hot pink n' black checkerboard pattern "web" belt w/ a snowbunny logo buckle. u c, i convinced kaela to get that checkered belt, telling he how that checker pattern has become yet 'nother big, retro 1980s hot item, following on the coat tails'f the success'f retro 1980s slip.on vans, which often have that checkerboard pattern. "the vans song," u know?
[later] ¿ÀÈÄ: 4 lunch just now, i ate salad n' butternut squash soup from my werk.com cafeteria ($4.44). i'm tryin' not to overeat. well; u know i don't talk much 'bout ballsports here on the beno journal. in many ways, ballsports r like the antithesis'f beno: i'm into taekwondo n' boardsports... period.... or semi.colon? yah, i don't mind watchin' some ballgames. after all, i went to pretty much every single leland chargers futbol n' basketball game while in was a hi skool student. that as cos i was in band n' had to go. i was kind'f 4ced to go; but u know what? in the end, i had fun. i prefer watchin' sports like college futbol or college hoops over watchin' pro sports cos i feel there's more emotion in it. some call me an idealist or dreamer cos i'd like to believe that college ball playas do it 4 skool pride n' not $$$; but my friends tell me that college ball playas get plenty'f bribe.type gifts like cars n' stuff. oh well. neway, i have 2 ballsports items to discuss rt now: 1) cal futbol n' 2) the santa clara 49ers. the cal bears r "8 n' 2, but 6 n' 1 in the pac 10." they were undefeated until last sat, when the arizona wildcats managed to beat'em 24 to 20. *sigh* kaela n' i've been hyped that our skool's futbol team's been doin' so well, but then i read the bad news on my cellfon on sun nite while we were eatin' sushi @ truya. well, this sat, cal goes up 'gainst usc down in los angeles. man! what excitement! i'll hopefully be up on the slopes, shreddin' it up; but, in a small way, i wish i could be @ the l.a. memorial stadium to root 4 my alma mater n' 4 all things nor*cal, u know? this is prob'ly the ultimate nor*cal/socal showdown, rt? we already beat ucla this season; but ucla's not as much'f a rival as usc, if u ask me, cos they're a fellow publik skool n' furthermore a fellow uc skool. of course, stanfurd's our ultimate rival in most things ("the big game" - 2006³â12¿ù02ÀÏ), but stanfurd's futbol team's been so lousy lately, that the big game doesn't sound as exciting as this cal/usc showdown. go bears! 1 thing that fuels my current excitement over this nor*cal/socal rivalry's that i was reading in future snowboarding magazine 'bout the profiles'f all the major u.s. snowboarding regions. i was readin' up on socal's profile n' tahoe's profile. that got me a nor*cal/tahoe pride trip, u know? well, if i'm on the slopes on sat - n' i plan to be, then i'll have my board w/ it's big ol' cal sticker on the nose. thus, ppl on the lifts n' in the lift lines'll keep asking me if i know the game's score, n' i most likely won't; unless i check up on it via my cellfon. the santa clara 49ers - that's been big news this wk or so. wow, santa clara may be growin' up, eh? cing the nice marquee sign @ the mission city center for the performing arts rt by our house. wow, it looks quite metropolitan or even cosmopolitan, eh? then, un4utnately, u look 'cross the street n' c ghetto 4.plexes w/ taxis parked in their driveway. i mean... it's not that i regret these ppl; but that kind'f housing there doesn't help the area look as cosmopolitan. well, as much as i'm not a ballsports fan, i'd really like the 49ers to move to santa clara. mayor patricia mahan - good job! here's a sports illustrated article: "49ers dump candlestick - team hopes to relocated in nearby santa clara." i hope the 49ers really mean this n' rn't just using this as a bargaining chip to get sf to help out more w/ a new stadium there. after all, s'pposedly, this incident has already ¢0$t the sf bay area the 2016 olympik bid. *sigh* i'd much rather have the olympiks in the sf bay area than in chicago or ny! *sigh* all'f the sudden, i've got so much bay area sports pride, eh? how 'bout them oakland or golden state warriors?
several yrs 'go, i cleaned out my closet n' got rid'f most'f my baggy clothes, 'specially stuff i bought back when i was much wider. well, i feel like i kind'f hafta do a sweep like that 'gain: i haven't lost more weight; but, since i'm wearing slimmer fit pants these days, my looser shirts make no sense! i need to wear shirts w/ more'f a slim fit.
nites n' morns r now a bit chilly n' brisk. that's why i got those 2 winter coats. when we were out in the evening this wknd, i was tellin' kaela 'bout how nostalgic i felt, experiencing this weather. it brought me back to my childhood. i 'membered evenings when my family'd make trips out to eastridge mall, when it was nice, b4 it got ghetto n' then nice 'gain (i think). it's gotten chilly, n' now our furnace's broken!!! :-o the furnace heats up, n' the fan doe werk; but the fan doesn't turn on when the furnace heats up. that's a big prob! yesterday, during lunch, i went to orchard supply hardware n' bought a small $19.99 elektric rm htr (room heater) n' a can'f $9.99 3m heavy duty scotch guard. i'm gettin' ready 4 winter.
last nite, we had a planning mtg 4 our grx t3 light couples small group @ kampai house in sunnyvale on el camino real @ fair oaks / remington. i ordered pink phloyd (salmon teriyaki w/ mashed yams) n' wild orchid (shroom salad); n' kaela ordered the eel triple decker.
[later] Àú³á ÀÌÁö¸¸ ¾ÆÁ÷µµ Á÷Àå¿¡¼: i paid my homeowner's insurance 2day. bills, bills, bills; u know? [later] i filled out the online paperwerk 4 my 2007³â benefits elektions, ie healthcare plan. *sigh* crazy; healthcare ¢0$ts so much. *sigh* kaela's planning to get lasik (plus) done next yr. well, it's settled now. i set aside $5,000 4 that, so she has'ta get it done.
[later] i've mentioned this b4; kaela n' i r stayin' in town 4 t.giving 'gain this yr, 'specially cos plane tix were so expen$ive... or 'least 2 expen$ive 4 us. as i sed, i reallt don't make as much $$$ as some ppl think i do since 1) i'm a mechanical engr n' not a software engr like most'f my engring friends n' 2) i don't have a very hi position, partly cos ppl think i'm much younger than i really am n' thus assume i have less experience than i really do. neway, when kaela n' i meet ppl n' r asked what we do 4 a livin' etc.; when they hear i'm an engr, they don't ask ne further questions, while when the hear that kaela's a chiropraktic student, a long conversation follows. maybe i ought to tell ppl i'm a dj n' a taekwondo instruktor instead... cos i am. wouldn't life be grand if i were just a pro snowboarder w/ my own pro model deck n' all sorts'f $ponsorhips?
