¸ñ¿äÀÏ ¾Æħ: 2nite's the depeche mode concert! last nite, while surfing the web n' also sony connect online digital musik store, i found sumpthin' interesting: color theory - color theory presents depeche mode
it's a tribute album to depeche mode
. i wouldn't mind getting that album... i think. also, i wouldn't mind having for the masses: an album of depeche mode
songs
. that album has the cure's cover'f depeche mode's "world in my eyes." did i ever dl that mp3? that album's from 1998! i noticed that the color theory cover/tribute album has many tracks from depeche mode
's black celebration. as dreary n' dark as that sounds, that's 1'f my favourite depeche mode albums! color theory even includes a cover'f "but not tonight," which, as i've sed b4, is definitely 1'f my favourite depeche mode
tracks. i believe the most covered depeche mode
track is "enjoy the silence," which incidentally is their all time highest ranking single. i didn't realise that. i wonder what i thought that would be. i s'ppose it makes sense. otherwise, i guess i would've picked "strangelove" or "just can't get enough" from their vince clarke days. also "everything counts" should be up there, rt? "the turning point of a career in korea being insincere. . ." (a line from depeche mode
's "everything counts") heh, that's funny, that line... it could really apply to the semiconduktor industry, so man... it must speak volumes n' resound in the valley, eh? i mean, since korea has such a big hi.tech industry n' all... n' obviously many silly valley werkers gotta do bizness w/ korea. also, i find that line funny cos... well, yah... since i'm so submersed in korean culture like... that line could refer to like some korean celebrity aktor or sumpthin', u know? i 4get, but i can imagine that in the video, @ that pt in the song, they have a clip'f a white man shaking hands w/ some asian men in bizness suits. neway, the most covered (remade by others) depeche mode song's "enjoy the silence." last nite, i found several "enjoy the silence" covers on sony connect. that doesn't include that mars & mystre track that is basical an "enjoy the silence" cover but w/ a slightly modified name. i believe the title's "the silence" or sumpthin'. well, i found 2 "r&b" covers'f "enjoy the silence, both sung by female jazz divas... sort'f like norah jones. funny, huh? well, even more interesting is how 1'f these covers, which is by some gurl named janti, was released on 2006³â05¿ù25ÀÏ!!! that was this wk!!!! that's very important cos 2nite's the depeche mode
concert in mtn view @ the shoreline amphitheatre; n' furthermore, 2nite's concert is the 1st show'f the 3rd leg'f their playing the angel tour! that's significant (in small amts). it's just that, there prob'ly is more hype over depeche mode rt now than usual.
last nite, both the beautiful kaela hwang n' i attended the turbo kick box (tkb) class @ the e. arques 24 hr fitness. i'm glad that i'm surviving these tkb classes very well. i get a good werkout, but i'm not like dying. oh yah! yesterday, i did both a spin class during lunch n' the tkb class in the evening. i'm happy 'bout that. i need to keep this up! well, shoot; i have no plans to visit the gym 2day or 2nite.
[later] ¿ÀÈÄ: there's this thing (should i say "program"?) called recording the angel, where this particular british company's getting recording from all the depeche mode concerts on this 3rd (n' final?) leg'f the current tour (touring the angel) n' releasing/selling cds n' digital files. they say it's the ultimate souvenir, n' i've gotta say i concur to a good amt despite the steep, steep pri¢es. the cd ¢o$t$ $38, n' the set'f digital files ¢o$tS $20! that's rather steep, eh? however, they call 'em "limited edition." i'm considering buying the digital files. i'd like the cd, but that pri¢e is just 2 much!
@ lunch, i went to sweet tomatoes w/ my ol' roomate n' good friend vince. it's great that vince n' i meet up 4 lunch every so often now that he werks in the sobay. the weather was really nice n' we ate out on the covered patio. we beat the lunch crowd, n' it got really crowded as we ate. what nice weather! i still worry that it'll be cold @ the shoreline amphitheatre 2nite, so i'm aktually wearing a thermal undershirt under my black (kenny cole, embroidered) dress shirt n' gray/grey t.shirt. i'm dressing in kind'f dark colours to be a depeche mode fan, u know?
[later, 2006.04.28] i should mention that i did back in the 1990s buy the imported single'f the "walking in my shoes" cover by some continental european group called diesel christ.
