2006.04.19

33rd monthversary

수요일 아침: 2day's the beautiful kaela hwang's n' my 33rd wedding monthversary. i'd take her out 2nite, but i hafta attend this sjsu college'f engrng (college of engineering) awards banquet as a delegate from my company, who's totally sponsoring the event. it's @ the fairmont hotel in san jo, n' i've gotta wear a suit. i chose the steak option 4 dinner. i'm expekting a tasty dinner. after all, it's the fairmont! maybe i can take kaela out 2morrow nite? *shrug* well, "homelife" is nicer these days cos kaela admits that this 0.25 isn't as bad/bizzy as last 0.25. however, she's still going to some seminar this wknd n' next. i'll go snowboarding this sat, but next sat i have a baby shower to attend. i've gotta create some kind'f salad 4 that. dude, it's a beautifully sunny day 2day, announcing that spring is in full bloom, etc. heh, it's almost a month late! i'd like to go out 4 lunch 2day, if i have time. *sigh* un4tunately, i have some mtg early this afternoon, so i worry. also, why should i eat 2 big'f a lunch when i'll s'pposedly be having such an awesome dinner, rt? this morn, i ate a sandwich w/ a slice sara lee whole grain bread stuffed w/ leftover easter ham n' some kind'f tasty mustard that kaela brought home as leftovers from somewhere... perhaps quiznos? i ate that sandiwch n' later ate some non.fat cottage cheese w/ blueberries.
[later] uh oh! the snow's melting!
snow report, 2006년04월19일 (compared to yesterday, 2006년04월18일)
alpine meadows: 143~282, previously 146~266

boreal: closed :-( i really wish i could've hit up boreal 'least 1nce this season.

dodge ridge: 108~168, previously 116~178 ... i hardly care.

stoopid, lame heavenly:: 175~206, previously 175~206... ok, no change, but heavenly still less than ideal.

northstar@tahoe: 72~180, previously 72~160... did i just misread yesterday's report?

sierra@tahoe: 116~269, previously 116~269... as we'll prob'ly return to sierra on sat, i've gotta keep my eye on this 1.

squaw valley: 290~290, previously 290~290... they've gotta learn to use that lower limit. they'd die as mechanical engrs w/ no sense'f tolerances or precision.

sugar bowl: 132~276, previously 132~278

kirkwood: 200~325, previously 200~325... hold steady, kirkwood! i'll eventually return this season.

homewood: 118~230, previously 118~230... yeah, i really don't care.

the price'f oil's rather hi rt now. the ¢o$t'f gas @ the pump's quite hi. i really ought to buy a bike asap. furhtermore, i ought to be allowed to ride my skateboard 'round 4 transportation. the ¢heape$t gas in the area's the coleman ave, $anta ¢lara ¢0$+¢0 @ $2.759/gal. that's ¢heaper than ar¢o. i hope that pri¢e is rt. oh yah, i'm getting this info from sanjosegasprices.com. let's try to buy local grown produce n' locallly made produkts. seriously... let's @ least try. u know, i want to get a bike to $ave $$$ on ga$, but i feel a li'l funny cos as a snowboarder n' sort'f a skateboarder, i really prefer to travel sideways. humans r the only animal that can travel sideways, as dogs n' cows walk on all 4s n' don't ride skateboards. we r thus superior beings. crabs travel sidewas. nuts. what other animals travel sideways?
last nite, i came home from werk n' then fertilised the lawn. i brought sooni outside to hang out while i did that. then, i pulled some weeds. wait, no... i pulled weeds on mon but not yesterday. i did however spray herbicide on some weeds. sure, i'd like to have a more organik yard, but these dandelions just fight 2 hard to stay 'live. it's hard to pull 'em out. i'd rather be snowboarding.
kaela n' i went to taekwondo praktice, where we kicked paddles. mark n' i discussed plans to teach a 10.wk adult beginner class this summer. yah, we're looking 4 students. the class'll $cent;o$t just $200 4 10 wks, including 도복 dobok (uniform). it'll be every tues evening @ 600p, but i'll look into expanding those times 4 more days each wk. i'd like to give my students more praktice. if absolutely necessary, maybe i'll hold some kind'f office hrs in a nearby park on sat morns or sumpthin'. i'd hate to praktice in publik, but *shrug* if i hafta, i'll hafta. i don't feel i'm good @ teaching kids but think i'm pretty good @ teaching adults.
[later] 오후: wow, my manager took our grp out to lunch @ masala oven indian buffet cos 1'f the contraktors from india is leaving our grp @ the end'f the wk. it's funny cos 2 out'f 3 times i've been there now, i felt like i was really rushed as i was eating n' that i couldn't enjoy the fud as well cos i was rushed. i realise that this is cos this restaurant's so close to my office, n' thus ppl choose to go there when we don't have much time. as i did the 1st time iw as there, i ended up letting all the flavours mix on my plate, n' well... i guess 1 could say, "it all mixes in the stomach neway." however, yah... i think i could've enjoyed my fud better if the desi chinese fud didn't mix w/ the butter chicken etc. 'twas nice to've been fed lunch 2day, knowing that i'll also be fed dinner @ the sjsu college'f engrng (college of engineering) awards banquet: steak. [later] man, i'll really need to exercise asap. however, it looks like a group'f my cowerkers from the ol' recent college hire program r doing lunch @ athena grill 2morrow, so that'd mean that i can't werkout in the werk.com gym on thurs. also, i'm mtg up w/ a couple 4 whom i'm djing their wedding on fri during lunch, so no fri werk.com gym werkout. maybe i'll get to jog 2morrow morn w/ sooni b4 werk, but man... these days i don't do that very often. i've gotta start waking up earlier. sat, i'm s'pposed to take some friends from our couples bible study small grp to tahoe 4 snowboarding/skiing. in this grp, i'll be the only snowboarder. :-/ i'm reconsidering base reparing n' waxing my board cos it'll be more downhill n' less freestyle than last time.
[later] 밤, 1054p: i went to the sjsu college'f engrng (college of engineering) awards banquet. it's the 60th anniversary'f the sjsu college'f engrng (college of engineering). u know, 2day, my manger took our grp out to lunch @ masala oven, as i sed. on the walk back from his car to our offices, he asked if me n' this other guy ever thought 'bout getting our ph.ds. hrm... i would usually say no, n' i guess i did say no. however, after thinking 'bout it n' going to this akademic funktion, i'd say that i wish i could go get my ph.d. realistically, i can't; but... i dunno... then 'gain, it's just 1'f those "the grass is greener on the other side'f the fence" things; how, whenever i'm in skool, i wish i were in the industry n', whenever i'm in the industry, i wish i were in skool. the "keynote speaker"'f the nite was dr. moira gunn'f npr's tech nation n' biotech nation shows. she made a pretty good speech. the fud was pretty good, n' they had wine n' champagne.
