ÀÏ¿äÀÏ ¿ÀÈÄ, 448p est / 148p pst: i'm aboard american aerolines flight 4225, service from iad dullles to ord o'hare.   the plane's an small embraer jet like the 1 i rode on thurs evening from sjc mineta to lax bradley aeroport.   i'm returning to the bay area.   what a fun time it has been in dc, hangin' w/ fahad n' wendy.   dc's a beautiful, urban, cosmopolitan city.   [later] 507p est / 207p pst: i was interrupted by the take off.   i'm enjoying the nice view'f lush virginia.   upes, now we're above the clouds.   well, how was the wknd?   'twas a lot'f good fud, which's sort'f funny cos dc isn't necessarily famous 4 great fud altho' most ppl'd assume some level'f competency in the restaurants n' chefs in the u.s. national capital, eh?   well, the places we went didn't disappoint.   lessee, where did i eat?

places @ which i ate:
• ±Ý¿äÀÏ Á¡½É: some li'l korean sushi joint near fahad's office, near the nat'l mall...   i had the tuna lover's special, while fahad had the salmon lover's special: each had a 0.5 dzn roll (maki) pcs, 2 pcs'f nigiri, n' 1 extra delicious hand roll (temaki).   the fish etc. was good, but the nori (±è kim or gim) was a bit soggy.
• ±Ý¿äÀÏ Àú³á: così...   i had the chicken pesto melt n' some fahad's tomato/basil pizza (1 slice).   i told fahad n' wendy how i enoyed my 1 n' only visit to valley fair's ephemeral così this past christmas $hopping $eason rt b4 it closed down.   così's very commonplace 4 east coast residents but a rare treat 4 a visitor like me from cali4nia's bay area.   their flat bread rocks!
• Åä¿äÀÏ Á¡½É: chef geoff's...   a decently luxurious meal...   'least 4 a lower middle class bloke like me, scraping by on my measly in¢come...   the beautiful kaela hwang had this chicken satay salad w/ coconut vinaigrette, while i had the southern fish fry: deep fried tilapia w/ hush puppies n' s'pposedly spicy but not spicy dipping mayo.
• Åä¿äÀÏ ¿ÀÈÄ °£½Ä: i had a nf chai latte @ $tarbuck$ n' a couple'f bites'f some kind'f mint brownie.
• Åä¿äÀÏ Àú³á: pizza paradiso near georgetown...   wow, this local favourite amazed kaela n' me w/ its bier selektion!   kaela had a lite wheat bier, while i had some kind'f north coast imperial russian stout.   man, that was an excellent stout!   the table shared 1 large (12") funghi pizza n' 1 uh... bartolli? ... it had 2 (chicken) eggs (°è¶õ) on it as well as some tobiko/caviar.   kaela n' i also shared btwn us some kind salad w/ a li'l bit'f anchovies n' olives.   no room 4 dessert...
• ÀÏ¿äÀÏ Á¡½É: the american grill @ l'enfant plaza hotel...   some successful chiropraktor n/or prof bought lunch 4 the group.   feeling a li'l undeserving, i opted 4 the ¢heape$t item: a honey.roasted turkey sandwich w/ kitchen.made potato chips ("chips" in the amerikkkan sense, otherwise "crisps" in the true, proper british sense).   kaela ordered the rather pri¢y crab cake sandwich on baked brioche, which she misread as "brie" n' later likened to a hamburger bun.   in a smart move, she traded her french fries 4 a caesar salad.
• ÀÏ¿äÀÏ ¿ÀÈÄ °£½Ä: a nf mocha @ bread n' chocolate as well as some'f a chai latte mousse that i split w/ kaela, ultra unhealthy but cute.   @ this unbelievably inefficient but friendly café, i pur¢hased a chicken caesar wrap ($5.95) to go 4 the homebound commute.   all the workers l there spoke in a non.english language.   were they ethiopian? jamaican? *shrug*

603p est / 503p cst/ 303p pst: on the flights this wknd, i rediscovered the lycopene filled goodness n' na⁺ filled badness'f tomato juice.   maybe it's cos i saw a korean ¾ÆÀú¾¾ ajuhssi w/ a lycomato $hopping bag w/ some familiar, comely faces, which i later realised belonged to the members'f baby v.o.x.; subliminal mkting?

places i visited:
• ±Ý¿äÀÏ ¾Æħ: nat'l art gallery: dada n' cézanne exhibits (amongst others)
• ±Ý¿äÀÏ ¿ÀÈÄ: natural n' amerikan history museums...   the natural history never fails to amuse, especially w/ its displays n' dioramas'f cute fuzzies.
• Åä¿äÀÏ ¿ÀÈÄ: cherry blossom trees n' ww2 memorial...   we watched a cute squirrel feast on cherry buds.

reading that list, i realise that i didn't hit up 2 many significant spots, but this trip was 'bout ppl not places.   i'm so happy that kaela n' i got to spend time w/ wendy n' fahad.

on this trip as well my previous dc trip, i observed how asian.pacific culture matters so much less on the east coast.   european culture's more emphasized.

628p est / 528p cst / 338p pst: did i get sunburn on the rt side'f my neck, or did i accidentally scratch myself w/ some s#arp piece'f dry skin?   i'm now flying over some kind'f refineries.   where r we?

[later] 828p cst / 628p pst, on board an amerikan aerolines md80 bound 4 sjc from ord.   i can't believe this plane has no musik or movies!   i'll hafta run down my pa1mone tungsten t5 battery by playing mp3s.   i have a great seat: on the aisle w/ a empty gap next to me, near the bathrm.
