2004³â10¿ù07ÀÏ, ¸ñ¿äÀÏ ¾Æħ: ¾îÁ¦¹ã¿¡ ¼øÀ̸¦ »êÃ¥¾È½ÃÄ×¾î¿ä. last nite, i didn't take sooni 4 a walk, but i should've. the beautiful kaela hwang n' i ate the Á¶·©ÀÌ ¶±ººÀÌ joraengi dduhkbokki that i cooked n' watched 1 episode'f ȲÅÂÀÚÀÇ Ã¹»ç¶û / hwangtaejauy chuhtsarang. after that, kaela sort'f fell asleep cos she's been really bizzy lately w/ skool n' werk, u know. i watched some dish netwerk tv. i checked out the korean channels as well as the english channels. well, aktually we also get some arabic n' plenty'f spanish channels. we get lots'f those premium channels like hbo n' showtime, but we don't get the ppv channels 4 free or nething. uhm, i hate to say this, but i realised last nite that there sure is a lot'f junk on tv! :-/ i guess i already knew this n' shouldn't have needed to be reminded. man! why is there so much junk on tv that i can't understand why neboody'd watch? there r all sorts'f old, stoopid movies n' reruns'f shows i sure don't wanna watch! uhm, 'gain, i hate to say this, but i'm aktually even disappointed w/ the korean channels. like... *sigh* they sure have lot'f news on all the time. i wished that they'd have lots'f dramas on all the time n' musik videos!!! however... :-( they don't. i guess i sort'f dreamed that this package'd include kmtv or mnet or whatever... upes... we get mbc (which is called mbn cos there's already an mbc, which is an arabic channel), sbs, n' kbs. there's arirang, but we'd hafta pay even more to get it. arirang is the amerikan channel in korea neway. on that channel they have korean language lessons, etc. on sbs, they're playing Æĸ®ÀÇ ¿¬ÀÎ / parisuy yuhnin, which u know we've already cn; n' on kbs they're showing Ç® ÇϿ콺 / full house, which again u know we've cn. these particular broadcasts might have english subtitles; which, as i've sed already helps me catch things like jokes etc. however kaela n' i both think that the absence'f subtitles helps us learn korean better cos it 4ces us to figure things out instead'f just reading english, u know? [later] neway, i hate to say it, but i'm kind'f disappointed w/ the programming on dish... :-/ i mean, if u like tv, then maybe u'll like it; but i guess i should've 'membered that, in gen'l, i don't like tv. well, there r lots'f movies on, so well... like it sort'f means we don't hafta ever rent dvds, sort'f.
funny, when ryan was over installing the dish stuff, he was saying that he likes to watch the korean game shows cos the gurls r hot. ha ha, i sed, well, on korean tv, they only let good.looking ppl on tv. ha ha... i dunno; that's not totally true, but sort'f. n' ryan sed danny had sed that, in korea, if u'r ugly u never c the lite'f day. heh, *shrug* i dunno... definitely, i think appearance means a bit more there, in that u can't be a slob, etc. yah, u'r expekted to make an effort to take care'f ur appearance, etc. however, personally, as u know, i think that is very important. *shrug* neway, i think the game shows that ryan's thinking'f r the 1s that have celebrities as contestants, so... yah, that's a li'l diff, rt? *shrug*
this morn, i took sooni 4 a jog down to el camino real n' back. she pooped 'lot. i couldn't believe it. well, i guess she's had days like this b4. it's cos i fed her 2ice or 3ice (thrice) yesterday, i 4get. also, she was kept indoors 4 a long time yesterday, rt? well, she pooped 'lot. u know, when i walk... i usually say "good morning," "hello," etc. to ppl, but i dunno if i should or what, u know? like, some ppl r into that kind'f "howdy doody," "hi diddly ho" kind'f shizzle, but many others rn't. perhaps it goes back to that whole euroamerikan v. other ppls' view on friendship, etc. like, i know asians more often do not appreciate the whole hi diddly friggin' ho dealio, u know? while, older euroamerikans praktically expect n' demand that whole deal. i heard a relative piece on npr this morn. a superconservative harvard university prof wrote a thesis that sez amerika's prob is that it doesn't have a unifying culture, that ppl should just give up n' accept the anglo.protestant culture as the one amerikan culture n' that the biggest threat to this country is immigration from mexico cos'f the propagation'f a differing culture. hrm, personally, i totally disagree. *sigh* yah, n' other intellektuals also disagreed w/ this harvard prof, saying that despite the variety'f cultures in amerika n' the philosophies that go 'long w/ them; amerikans, despite their varying ethnicities, do all hold onto certain principles'f individuals' rights etc. the harvard prof sed that immigrants should 100% accept "amerikan" culture, but some smart person pted out, well what should they accept? if u say they should accept "amerikan" culture, then they might as well accept the whole "blood n' cripps" gang culture. would that be good? it's certainly 100% amerikan. after travelling, i am 100% convinced that amerika's sole strength is its diversity! n' that's a very big strength, so "conservative" amerikans should stop trying to knock it. u know, honestly amerika is a superpower; n' what makes it great is its diversity. neway... back to the whole friggin' "hi diddly ho, neighbourino" dealio. yah, i usually say "good morning" etc. i think i was raised to do so. this morning, an old euroamerikan man passed me, as i was walking sooni, n' i sed, "good morning." he sed, "good morning." then, this asian woman was walking 2wards us. i pulled sooni off onto the st, n' we walked on the st, but she wanted to get back on the sidewalk. that woman, i guess was scared'f wolfish sooni, n' got onto the st. personally, i'm sorry to say, i'm offended by that. to me, it's as if some1 saw my kid n' assumed he was a street punk thug n' thus refused to walk on the same sidewalk as him. i didn't say "good morning" or nething. she passed by n' didn't say nething. then 'nother woman passed by, uhm... i hope this doesn't come off wrong but, to me she was of unidentifiable ethnicity... i don't mean that as a bad thing! no! i just couldn't tell. neway, i was still in a foul mood cos'f that previous incident, so i didn't say "good morning," n' neither did she. *breath* well, yah... i try to do the whole friggin' flanders bit ("stupid sexy flanders!"), but well... i understand, i s'ppose when it's not the thing to do. when in rome; they had that great 1980s hit "the promise," which i enjoyed in 6th grade. when i was in richland, washington, visiting my dad in 1994, the summer after my freshman yr @ cal i took a walk by myself down 'long the columbia river. some college.aged gurl passed by on the walkway n' sed "hi" etc. i was surprised, but i sed hi. the thing is that in cali, young ppl rn't friendly in that way. u know? in cali, by default, young ppl give each other attitude n' ignore each other. it's even more so in socal than in norcal.
[later] ¿ÀÈÄ: during lunch, my group'f cowerkers went to china stix on el camino real near scott blvd 4 our cowerker's b.day. i ordered their «»Í jjambbong / chao ma mien. it was ok but not spicy 'nuff. i'd 4gotten to tell them to make it extra spicy. i stopped by home to pick up a coupon i got from the val.pak coupon envelope in the mail yesterday. the coupon sed 1¢ honey pecan prawns w/ a $30 purchase... @ dinner time only. well, i tried to use it, but they rejekted it cos it was lunch time not dinner time. nuts. (walnuts n' pecans) my group'f cowerkers r pretty young, most r younger than me. in fakt, @ lunch, i'm pretty sure i was the oldest. there r some in the group that r older than me, but i don't think ne'f them came 2day. [later] my 4tune cookie 2day sed: "you will receive gold by the bushel." my cowerker, the b.day boy, was sitting next to me, n' his 4tune cookie sed: "happiness is right next to you." ha ha ha. oh yah, my cowerker sitting 'cross from me, his 4tune cookie sed: "you will get new clothes." ha ha.
