Human Perception: Harvard Research

Published by alcarden on

Understanding visual perception, especially in humans, can lead to fascinating discoveries. We can come to understand the limitations on human perception and how this employs difficulties for humanity as well as potential benefits. For example, understanding perception of geometric shapes can help understand the limitations and strengths of visual navigation and map reading. Coming to understand how humans perceive may help us understand and determine the internal decision making process that occurs within every one of us. Human visual perception can also help us bridge the gaps in education. If we can better understand how people perceive shapes or physical properties, it may help in enhancing the education system teach these concepts more effectively and thoroughly.

Because of this, I devoted a summer to understanding human perception of Euclidean geometry.
