It sounds like what happens [hide]to your shadows when you are in a sports arena or something - likes from every angle each giving their own shadow, which makes it seem like you have more legs.[/hide]

The light? That glaring neon lighting the subway in the morning when you go to work, setting the mood for the day.
One leg, one stop, then three more stops.
No place to sit today.

For aliens it would be a moon shuttle, hopping from moon to moon.
