Assembled in a factory
I crown the winner
with a bang and a groan

Interesting, but no.

To be honest, I really didn't think this one was going to cause so much trouble...   ;)

you're pulling my leg... well, pulling something...
(really, I did once work in a factory that made these. Less exciting than you might expect)

Oh, come on, you didn't "accidentally" take home a few of the "bangs" and have fun with them?  ;)

The Netherlands. But unless my understanding of the answer is mistaken it goes for any country that doesn't subscribe to British [hide]Christmas[/hide] traditions.

True enough. I suppose next time I make a riddle I should take culture into account!

Here's something to think about:

Is there such thing as a completely culture-free riddle?

No. Without culture we wouldn't know what it was about.
But humanity has some shared culture. And of course American culture has invaded nearly every corner of the earth. The real issue, though, is whether the information you need is salient enough if you're not part of a specific subgroup of humanity. There's quite a few specific things about foreign cultures that are well-known; albeit that they're sometimes a bit stereotypical and not accurate (like the Dutch wearing wooden shoes and living in windmills while farming tulips).

Or like Canadians living in igloos and riding around in a sled pulled by huskies, eh?
