Title: A virile genus Post by copiae on Apr 20th, 2005, 4:51pm Hey guys, I stumbled on this forum looking for an answer to a riddle thats been bugging me for a while. While I am here though, I thought I might share a riddle that I came up with a while ago. Honestly, I am curious as to if anyone can crack it. Anyway, without further ado... A virile genus, the same in greek, coupled with the ancient greek sound, is what I am, very loosely and broadly. To be more specific, take away four of my characters; a diminutive cavalcade indeed. Who, or what, am I? Happy solving! |

Title: Re: A virile genus Post by Speaker on May 11th, 2005, 1:36am A stab in the dark anyway. A horn of plenty Some sort of plant called a horn of plenty, or cornocopia. So, it is virile (horny) and there is a lot of it, as in a cavalcade. Any more hints? |

Title: Re: A virile genus Post by honkyboy on May 14th, 2005, 1:06pm Another stab: A Spartan. Certainly was a verile group (genus?) of people. Take away four letters and make ant , fits diminutive calvacade, as in a small parade of ants. Can't figure the 'greek sound' part though. |
