Title: I often encourage intelligent others Post by maragaret on Apr 12th, 2004, 8:18am I often encourage intelligent others, But am useless to the feeble. My life is always useful to the lives of others, And many things come from my essence. The lifestyles of many would be in ruin without me, While some will never know how to use me. I can be a person's best friend, Or a weapon that brings fear. I can toy with the emotions of others, Or immortalize the lives that I touch. I will be an instrument to the future, Yet have a limited lifespan. You are like a parasite to me, But I habor you no ill will. //Title changed by Icarus. Please use titles that distinguish your riddle from the rest of this forum. |

Title: Re: what am I Post by evergreena3 on Apr 12th, 2004, 2:55pm BNC, I'd say your answer fits the last 2 lines, as well. For, ::[hide] as we read the book, we break the binding, rub off the ink, rip pages, dog-ear corners, write in the margins, drop in water or get it wet, and end up consuming it whole. The book, however, gains nothing from us. That, by nature, is parasitic.[/hide]:: EverGreenA3 |

Title: Re: I often encourage intelligent others Post by Cathos on Apr 12th, 2004, 7:17pm I was going to say [hide]book[/hide] but I couldn't think of how to justify it. I also think [hide]wood[/hide] might work in a generic sence (it's used to create the former). I was leaning this way because: :Weapon that brings fear [hide]could be a "primitive" weapon such as a catapult. I'd be scared as hell if someone started shooting rocks at my house with one of these[/hide]: :Immortalize the lives... [hide]I was thinking along the lines of a wooden bust, used to immortalize an important historical/political/whatever person[/hide]: Of course, a [hide]book[/hide] works just as well, I'm just bitter because you beat me to the punch. :P |
