Title: To ride before the river's ledge Post by raven on Apr 2nd, 2004, 6:09am I will be offline for a while as I rebuild the hardware and reinstall all of the applications on my new computer ( this could take a day or much longer ). So I leave you with this lighthearted whimsical riddle just for fun... Peacock frippery on my high-plumed horse, Ridiculing humility with nary remorse; Insolent, ostentatious, supercilious airs, Devising veneers out of arrogant stares; Enameled from all that I see, touch and feel, lucid critique is my Achilles' heel. What am I? ;) |

Loose TRANSLATION (okay, I haven't taken my computer apart yet.) Title: Re: To ride before the river's ledge Post by Cathos on Apr 2nd, 2004, 9:21pm I think it's at least related to [hide]pride[/hide] but I don't think that's the final answer. I would say it's arrogance, but that word's already mentioned in the riddle. |

Title: Re: To ride before the river's ledge Post by raven on Apr 3rd, 2004, 11:26pm Excellent... it's supposed to, but I also put in a couple of short cut methods to figuring it out. "To ride before the river's ledge" Pride goes before a fall Peacock frippery on my high-plumed horse, Ridiculing humility with nary remorse; Insolent, ostentatious, supercilious airs, Devising veneers out of arrogant stares; Enameled from all that I see, touch and feel, lucid critique is my Achilles' heel. don't trip ::) |
