Title: My first syllable is where the flowers grow Post by maryl on Apr 21st, 2003, 11:39am My first is where the flowers grow, and my solace after a long day. My second measures duration, and rates the speed you play. My whole is the hour I tell my children to cease their play. What am I? |

Title: Re: My first syllable Post by wowbagger on Apr 21st, 2003, 4:03pm I think there are some appropriate stories by an American, er, Mother. But you probably wouldn't want to read these to your children. |

Title: Re: My first syllable Post by raskolnikov on Apr 23rd, 2003, 5:34pm Many lines point to "bed" being in the answer. Flowers grow in a bed, a bed is solace after a long day, bedtime for line 5... But the 3rd and 4th lines count bed out entirely... as does the answer being attached to 'first','second' and 'whole'. hmmmmmmmmm, I'll give it more time. |
