Title: Once I passed through my whole. Post by aero_guy on Apr 10th, 2003, 4:39am Once I passed through my whole. 'Twas beautiful; 'Twas like a fairy-land, so gay, so glad, So free from care and sorrow. For a time I stayed. Yet eagerly desired the day When I might leave its simple joys. Ah me, If but I might return to them again! My first is always in my whole. Sometimes My first is in my last. When, long ago, Red Ridinghood on a kindly errand bent, Walked to her grandma's cot across the wood, My last was on my first. |

Title: Re: Once I passed through my whole. Post by maryl on Apr 12th, 2003, 11:46am I did look this up yesterday, but it still hasn't clicked. Thanks for the hints; I'm trying to change my train of thought on it. |

Title: Re: Once I passed through my whole. Post by aero_guy on Apr 12th, 2003, 2:15pm I think you don't understand, maryl. You got it right. Icarus is just razzing me for placing a homonym of the word I meant to use. It is fixed now. |

Title: Re: Once I passed through my whole. Post by maryl on Apr 12th, 2003, 2:43pm Oh, what a relief! I was going crazy there for awhile. |

Title: Re: Once I passed through my whole. Post by Icarus on Apr 12th, 2003, 5:46pm Sorry! I didn't mean to make you doubt your answer. I thought it clearly correct when I read it. :) Though it took me awhile to finally understand the point of Cho's comment. |

Title: Re: Once I passed through my whole. Post by aero_guy on Apr 12th, 2003, 6:09pm I think cho's comment here is the most arcane answer yet, but the one I gave for his "one is two" might come close. I just have no idea if I would get it if I hadn't written it. |

Title: Re: Once I passed through my whole. Post by maryl on Apr 13th, 2003, 11:54am Yeah, Cho's answer through me off as well, still don't get the connection. And speaking of Arcane-I have to learn to give hints instead of answers, but some of the hints are so "Arcane", they make it harder to figure out. (Riddles help improve your vocabulary skills as well.) :) |
