The medium puzzle for the third round of "what am I"s I am posting.

Thou art my first to me;
I am my first to thee-
Puzzlingly true.
How can it be, and why,
Seeing that I am I
And you are you?

When the wind slumberless
Whirls the grains numberless
Over the shore.
How may a mortal count
My second's vast amount-
My whole and more?

Hint: how to solve this kind of problem
"first" and "last" refer to syllables, and "whole" refers to the whole final answer. An example riddle is:

My first is dark;
My second round:
My whole may mark
A hate profound.

The answer is blackball. Black is dark, ball is round, blackball is what you do to exclude someone (like blacklisting them).

This manner of response is getting real common, you even beat Icarus to it!

Oh, and Kitty, I use the same example so I don't have to give away any good ones just to explain how do solve it and I need to explain as several of the other ones got questions on how it was done.

Please hide your answer using hide tags or refer to it obscurely like cho did here and Icarus usually does.

no worries.

[ hide ]Shsssh[ /hide ]

equals:

[hide]Shsssh[/hide]

when the spaces are removed. Will not be hidden on preview, but you will not be able to see the word hide either.
