Title: Profit Post by alien2 on Oct 3rd, 2011, 11:04am Tom and Jerry are business partners, working in a multinational corporation. Tom is unscrupulously ambitious, as profit is the most important thing in his life. He kills Jerry so that he gets promoted and gets his office. The murder occurs at 10 pm on a day off in Jerry’s house. Lieutenant Columbo, a homicide detective, tomorrow visits the corporation with a policeman. After talking to the manager in privacy, the detective sees Tom. He says to him that Jerry was shot yesterday and that he died instantly. Tom starts to cry, pretending that he’s sad, saying he didn’t know that. He then asks him where he was at the time of the shooting. Tom replies that he was sleeping in his bed. Columbo then says to the policeman to handcuff Tom and read him his rights. Why? |

Title: Re: Profit Post by playful on Oct 4th, 2011, 5:43am [hideb]Jerry's house is also Tom's house. Jerry was shot in his bedroom, which is also Tom's bedroom (they were partners not just in business but in life). If Tom had been in bed, he would already be aware of Jerry's death, and his surprise would be an act. He must be lying.[/hideb] |
