Title: Man in the apartment Post by BenVitale on Jul 21st, 2009, 10:45pm One winter night, a man in an apartment looked out the window and saw a man staring at him. He thought nothing of it until the next morning when he saw the same man staring in at him. He was so annoyed by this that he called the police. The police arrive that afternoon, sweating, and find that the man has disappeared even though the security cameras showed no one leaving the property of the apartment. All they found left was a hat. What happened? |

[hide]I think the idea proposed is that a heat wave made it too warm for snow.[/hide] |

Title: Re: Man in the apartment Post by chronodekar on Jul 23rd, 2009, 5:00am [hide] It can't be a reflection as a hat was found on the scene. (Exception: it was blown in by the wind) And as mentioned, it is obviously too warm to make a snow-man. Assuming that the cameras are good and perfect, we can conclude that this mysterious intruder is still around. Now, why he would be staring at his victim through a window, is another question entirely... or is is? :-/ [/hide] |

Title: Re: Man in the apartment Post by mikeseo on Jun 2nd, 2010, 4:05am Perhaps the police were in a cold sweat because their commanding officer had gone to check it out, seemingly been forced to order the security footage to be wiped and disappeared, leaving his police hat in the hast. |

Title: Re: Man in the apartment Post by malchar on Jun 2nd, 2010, 10:23am The snowman idea seems to work. In the afternoon when the police are sweating, the snowman has since melted. Note that the police are called in the morning but don't arrive until the afternoon. The only problem is why would the man be annoyed to see the snowman in the morning? Perhaps the man was expecting the heat wave to come along earlier and melt all of the snow in his driveway by morning. When he awoke and saw that the snowman was still there, he knew that it hadn't melted yet which made him annoyed. |
