A phone rang in the middle of class, yet the teacher didn't get angry

One of the answers was that it was the teachers phone

But there is another intended answer

It happened at night, when nobody was there.  Someone lost his phone the day before.

or

The teacher is deaf.  He is teaching sign language.

Yep, the teacher was deaf. Well, the whole class was deaf

Wow, 30 minute riddle...

But I was bored during computer classes

If the whole class is deaf, why don't they put their phone on vibrating alarm?  (And event that would be useful for SMS only, because they couldn't accept a call and talk).

Well, I had problems with my taiwanese phone, because apparently the phone designers didn't think that you needed to be able to turn the texting on silent

I have another possible answer to the riddle: [hide] the teacher was away sick, so she did not hear the phone![/hide]

Sorry I've been away for so long, busy busy busy!

Could work but teacher as in the teacher in the room so a substitute could have counted

Yeah I know, welcome back

(1) The class had a break/recess in the middle.

(2) It was an anger management class and it would be a little hypocritical for the teacher to "get angry".

The ring was "beep once", and the class was noisy

[hide] It was the phone on the teacher's desk that rang.[/hide]

Thanks cheesepuff!

Well the teacher did get angry. He/she just didn't outwardly express the anger, leading people to believe that they never got angry in the first place.
