there are 4 ducks they all go on a walk on the way they see a girl eating a sandwhich, next to her constructions workers paving a side walk and next to them a bug exterminator sticking his head out of an open pot -hole, the ducks decide to go back home when they get there on of the ducks is missing, what happened?

The girl ordered for a duck sandwich and there were no ducks in the sandwich shop.....the rest is history

OR

The duck was attracted towards the girl and decided not to go back.

OR

It fell in the pot-hole.

Yummy duck sandwich

The construction worker screamed DUCK!! to try to get one of his friends to avoid a large iron bar swinging towards his face and one of the ducks, that understands English, waddles over to it

Did all three (girl, construction worker, and bug exterminator) contribute in some way to the missing duck?
Did the girl try to feed the ducks with a morsel of her sandwich?

In that case, perhaps one duck trailed after the crumbs of her sandwich only to get a foot caught in the drying cement. The duck, unable to move away, then slowly died of leaking bug poison fumes coming from the hole.

Guys, the duck is missing, that does not mean the duck is dead. He could have met a certain chick which he starts to fancy..

The duck gets stuck in the concrete. The construction workers manage to free the duck damaging to the its' foot in the process. The exterminator offers to exterminate the duck using the bug poison, thereby putting the duck out of its' misery, but the girl eating her sandwich will hear nothing of it and insists on taking the duck home to nurse it back to health. The duck, which had been a bit of an ugly duck, actually grows up to be a swan, so the mother duck never finds her little duck and so in her mind he remains missing.
