Title: Women’s intuition Post by Iceman on Apr 1st, 2008, 9:55am Nicole and Dean are the married couple, living in their secluded house. For a reason unimportant for the riddle, before going to shop downtown, she forbids him to enter the living room. When she returns, she goes straight to the above room. All the furniture, which represents all of the objects there, was just like when she left. Also, there were no additional objects, but she knew that he visited the living room. How? Mind you, scent or smoke have no role in this riddle. |

Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by Azgard on Apr 1st, 2008, 10:44am [hide]Nicole had vacuumed the floor before she left and she could see Dean's footprints in the carpet. [/hide] |

Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by Iceman on Apr 1st, 2008, 11:50am Good try, but I think it’s real hard to perceive footprints like that. And the way I worded the riddle, it excludes it as a plausible answer. Regardless, perhaps there is a particular cleaning technique she used, and so your answer is valid for a similar riddle. Until then, no such luck. Later Azgard. |

Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by Iceman on Apr 1st, 2008, 11:55am Btw, nothing unusual happened, like Nicole hiding the camera or something. |

Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by ima1trkpny on Apr 1st, 2008, 12:21pm Actually Icey, it's pretty easy to see footprints in freshly vacuumed carpet... :P But maybe she [hide]did like 007 and when she shut the door to the room she took a hair from her head, licked it, and placed it across the door and door jamb to be able to see if the door was opened.[/hide] |

Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by SMQ on Apr 1st, 2008, 12:41pm [pedantic] Just FYI, it's "door jamb", like bomb or plumb (meaning vertical, not the fruit, obviously) [/pedantic] --SMQ |

Another good idea, but the room was exactly like when she left, to the detail, so no. |

Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by JiNbOtAk on Apr 1st, 2008, 6:07pm Dean admitted to Nicole without being asked that he went to the living room. The house has only one room, and since it's raining, but Dean is not wet, it's obvious that he's been into the house/room. |

Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by gotit on Apr 2nd, 2008, 2:24am Was there a TV in the living room? Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by gotit on Apr 2nd, 2008, 5:56am Some more thoughts. [hide]May be one of the furnitures was warmer than the others, indicating that someone had sat on it.[/hide] OR [hide]You said that the living room was exactly the same. But may be the living room led to some other room which had changed since Nicole last saw it.[/hide] |

Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by Grimbal on Apr 2nd, 2008, 6:44am In town she was told the daylight saving time is over and the clocks needs to be adjusted back. Going back to the living room, she goes straight to the big clock in the living room to adjust it. But she sees it shows exactly the same time as it did one hour ago, when she left it. Someone has adjusted the clock. Or she called her husband. He picked up the phone and she said: "I wanted to buy some ice cream, and wanted to ask you what flavor you want. But since obviously you went in the living room, I won't buy you any. You see, the phone is in the living room. Or it is winter and the living room is the only heated room. Since Dean didn't have the bluish color of someone who is freezing to death, he must have entered the living room. |

Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by gotit on Apr 2nd, 2008, 7:42am As Nicole was nearing her home, she met her friend Angelina leaving it. When asked, Angelina said that she had just come to see her. But a woman's intuition did not allow Nicole to believe that. She went straight to the living room, where the phone was kept and checked the dialled numbers list. And Angelina's name was the first in it. |

Title: Re: Women’s intuition Post by Grimbal on Apr 3rd, 2008, 12:41am Other possibilities: Nicole went downtown to buy infrared goggles. or Dean is now on his computer, editing a video of his living room. or Santa Claus was suppose to come through the chimney and deliver presents. But there is no present. Either Dean stole the presents (btw he is now playing with a RC helicopter) or his presence in the living room scared Santa away (damn! she told him not to enter the living room.). |
